SAPPO spoke to people from various ages and backgrounds to understand their perspectives about farmers and agriculture. We want to showcase who farmers are and how we actively collaborate with various segments of the pork value chain to ensure that pork is produced sustainably and that food safety standards are adhered to across the value chain.

This short film features insights from industry experts who play a crucial role in educating both value chain stakeholders and consumers about food production and food safety in South Africa. By fostering a culture of awareness and knowledge-sharing, these experts contribute significantly to enhancing food safety practices and standards in the country.

Food safety doesn’t only start at home, it’s actually from farm to fork and includes all the processes – and people – in between.

As South Africans, the responsibility of ensuring access to nutritious food for current and future generations rests upon our shoulders. By advocating for sustainable practices and stringent food safety measures, we pave the way for a future where affordable, healthy food is readily available.
